We moved to this Godforsaken state 4 VERY long years ago as a result of my husband's job. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm very glad he has a job, especially in these times. I jsut wish it were somewhere other than New Jersey.
I moved here from Ohio, which people here strangly think of as uncivilized. Little do they know. Malls were open until 10. Columbus had Lex Wexner (Victoria's Secrets, Abercrombie and Fitch, Bath and Body, etc.) and everyone else in the retail market realized that if they were going to compete in Columbus, they needed to compete with his flagship stores. Columbus has the Columbs Zoo (with director emeritis Jack Hanna), and of course THE Ohio State University and the Ohio State Buckeyes!!!!!
We have Lake Erie, a freshwater lake with clean beaches, to the north andthe Ohio River to the east and south. We have the largest Amish community in the country (no, Lancaster, PA is NOT the largest, just the most exploited). And, msotly, we have easily navigatable urban areas and wonderful rural areas. Everything is convenient. From Columbus, 2 to 3 hours gets you to Cleveland, Detroit, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh. Baseball, Football, and Indy Racing. And most of all, A LACK OF PEOPLE AND CONJESTION.
I'll pick certian topics for future blogs, but you get the idea.
My solution... subdivide the state and annex the divisions to PA, and NY. God knows there states seem to be in better shape than this one.
